LA DREAMERS

I feel perhaps frustererated that my practice (Rolfing) is not growing as quickly as i would like, and am always wondering if my plan of working as a health promoter is a naive pipe dream. I look around and see bodyworkers, barely scraping by, and i am like well what is this? is this what i want to emulate? And i wonder if all of my dreams are based on the advice that is so often given to young people with affluent parents: Find your passion follow it. They advise this because they have found money and no happiness and think that the opposite of their own direction may lead to a better result. And i see artists all following this advice, and struggling to make ends meet, because life isnt that easy, following your passion isnt enough... life is not just a stage to dance on, its a survival game, and their are predators hunting you down.

Going out to la i seee legions of screenwriters and actors in coffeeshops, all waiting for their big break, as they borrow money from parents who tell them to hang in there and push through it.... unfortunately.... its like normandy.....

Hipsters

First of all parden the delay in writing...

anyway what are hipsters?

i realized that there is a general loss of all things good, lately:

mainstream music sucks,
Look at mtv over the past 20 years...

Movies blow
Movies are increasingly turning towards the pg13 rating to appeal to more people, and quality high brow movies are on the drop

Our vocabs are decreasing

The baltimore symphony is struggling.

Politics and justice are degrading...
Bush obviously, but even look at the supreme court to overturn the floridas recount vote.... all the republicans voted not to allow the recount.... all the democrats for. Now this is a states rights issue which is a critical republican stance, sold out for obvious reasons.... the supreme court.... down.

there is a sense of a decline of aesthetics, of essential goodness...

Hipsters feel the vacancy of the lack of presence passion and beauty of our times and are all about how real to the vacant void of our cultaral emotional landscape can you be....

Interesting....

Not that i am joining them, but at least they are feeling...

Is being goofy bad?

I feel like goofiness is something that i am guilty of, and i have to ask myself is this a behavior that i should try and phase out with maturity? How many girls have i lost because of goofiness? hmmm?

sometimes there are deeper posssibilities of relating, that goofiness can get in the way of... but still... look at the beauty of how goofiness can spread through the world

The artists job is to awake an irrational joy in the viewer

I saw some kids going nuts with an exuberent wildness in a chipotle the other day, it was quite a contrasting scene to the seemingly lifeless crowd, and zombies on the burrito line.

I feel that we all have a place of revelry, that tends to get trained out of us.

The job of the artist, and alcohol is to awaken this primal joy.

My life is a sci fi movie

I want to start a club for people whose lives are like sci fi movies, or for people who would like their lives to be sci fi ish.

Essentially, i work daily with energetic fields, and study how life animates tissue. Whats interesting is if you look at any group of people that have studied and listen to their bodies systematically and in a disciplined way it gets really, sheall we say different.

When i say listen your body, all i mean is feel how the shirt on your body feels, and as you do this more and more you will gain access to more and more information just like people who taste wine can pick up more and more with practice.... well where can it go? SHit i have been doing this for 5 years now a couple hours a day, and i am just scratching the surface...

Look at the autobiograpjhy of the guy who started akeido, he was literally dodging bullets, and talking about all kinds of fields and shit. He would dance with trees. Look at any martial art, yogi, or meditation group, and yes it gets different.

Interestingly even MDs who are the most perhaps anal, and NORMAL, scientific people, are getting far out. There are MDs who actually listen to bodies. They touch the body and listen. They are called osteopaths and every generation they get wierder and wierder. At first they started to discover that the cranial bones were moving with cerebral spinal fluid, and they charted it, timed it graphed it, etc. THen they realized that there were other fluids moving in the body. Now they are at the point where they are timing the oscilation of cranial bones, the spehnoid imparticular, to a field that orignates from the horizon that they refer to as primary respiration.

Fascinating, and seemingly sci fi.

Whats interesting is that each of these things has a distint feeling to it. SO its like varieties of different kinds of orgasms and pain,

So everyone who actually listens to life in the body, gets on this psychadelic ride.... who wants in.

Professional Feeler

How is Life expressing itself in your tissues?

Essentially i suppose u can say that i am a professional feeler. I practice and train my felt sense in ways which give me more and more input everyday.

I do vipassana, which is essentially a 10 hour a day 10 days in a row sit down where you learn to take control of your mind and systematically feel your body.

During this you basically, go insane, then you realize that there is an entire world inside of your body that is more amazing than any movie.

Also professionally i am following on the heels of traditional osteopathy.
http://www.osteodoc.com/biodynamics.htm
Basically there are all kinds of pulses in the body, and i havent even gotten to the level yet to feel the most intereting of them, the long tide phenomon. I need to go to osteopathic school then do a postgrad program in order to get officially trained, so i will tell you about this in say 8 years. In the mean time though i am trying to find a renegade osteopath to give me a transmission.

Then there is also Breathwork that i am doing with jessica dibb, where we get together and do deep breathing that opens up all kinds of feelings....

Ohh yea and Tango, which is all about feeling your partner on the dance floor....

And then there is sex, also, which i am also doing. hopefully.

Hehehe, i will tell tales of some of the fruits of these explorations and what they look like....

But basically, u learn to feel how life expresses itself, then u can see where there is not so much expression, and see if you can bring it.

second best job out there, after rockstar

Most amazing thing ever

http://video.aol.com/video-detail/elephant-paints-self-portrait/3113163110

now my friend's mom witnessed this, so i know its not fake.

Now its possible that the elephant was trianed to draw this, which in itself is a remarkable feet.

But i am going to go with believing that the elephant just drew this from scratch.

Elephants are one of the only animals that can recognize themselves in the mirror. So they know what they look like.

So... anyway, what does this mean about animals?

Well having a pretty deep love affair with the animal kingdom, i am now swooning....
